HYROX is a global fitness race that combines running and functional workout stations in an epic format:
Run 1km, then tackle a functional workout station – and repeat this EIGHT times.
Every HYROX race is held indoors in massive exhibition halls, creating an immersive and electrifying atmosphere. Your cheer squad can follow your journey from start to finish, adding to the adrenaline-pumping vibe!
The race format is consistent worldwide, with global leaderboards tracking your progress and a World Championship to cap off each season. It’s a sport that’s perfect for elite athletes and everyday fitness enthusiasts alike, offering everyone the chance to push their limits and achieve greatness.

As an official HYROX Affiliated Training Club, UniActive is your go-to destination for HYROX-style training in Wollongong! We’re here to help you build strength, boost endurance, and dominate your next HYROX event.
Build the strength + stamina needed for race day with expert guidance from our trained instructors, who know the ins and outs of HYROX movements.
We host regular HYROX events, including the HALFROX Illawarra! So stay tuned for the next event coming your way.
Exclusive access to top-tier programming templates from world-class HYROX athletes and coaches, with 4, 8, and 12-week plans designed for peak performance on Race Day.
If you’ve signed up for HYROX Melbourne (9–13 December 2026), now is the time to train with purpose.
UniActive already offers HYROX Group Exercise classes as part of our regular timetable, but we understand that group training doesn’t suit everyone’s schedule, goals, or experience level. HYROX racing requires targeted preparation, combining endurance running with the eight functional workout stations that make the event unique.
As an Affiliated HYROX Training Centre, UniActive has accredited HYROX Coaches and access to Performance Hub 365 – HYROX’s official training platform featuring hundreds of workouts and programming options. This allows us to create a personalised training plan tailored to your current fitness, abilities, and lifestyle.
Our 12-Week HYROX Conditioning Program has been specifically designed to prepare you for HYROX Melbourne, helping you build the fitness, strength, confidence, and race-day readiness needed to perform at your best.
STARTS: Monday 14th September 2026
COST: $25 per week
12-week commitment required
