1. SAFETY FIRST! COVID-19
UniActive has undertaken a comprehensive review of aquatic operations to develop a COVID-Safe plan which meets or exceeds NSW Health requirements for aquatic facilities. . . A few changes you may notice as part of our COVID-Safe plan include:
- Chairs have been spaced a minimum of 1.5m distance apart. Please do not move them.
- Instructors are separating students in lessons where practical
- Equipment will be thoroughly cleaned after each use
- Instructors are modifying teaching techniques to reduce physical contact (hence maintain social distancing) where practical
- Customers will no longer be served by swim school office staff via the side sliding door. Please go through the exit turnstiles and approach the swim school office via the front counter.
- Goggles will not available to borrow
- Change rooms are accessible however every 2nd shower is unavailable for use to maintain social distancing. Out of consideration for fellow patrons and to help reduce congestion at peak times, please keep showers brief.
- Communal sunscreen bottles have been removed to reduce contact – please bring your own sunscreen.
We realise some of these measures could adversely impact your experience at UniActive, but hope you understand the need to implement such measures in order to help keep our staff and customers safe. Your cooperation and understanding is appreciated.
2. FEES and DIRECT DEBIT
How much do lessons cost?
30min learn-to-swim group lessons and stroke development classes - $16
1hr Junior Squad Sessions - $14
All lessons are paid for via fortnightly direct debit (DD) from a nominated bank account or credit card (VISA or MasterCard only). Please note that failed payments will incur a $10 fee which may be added to the next payment.
How can I be sure bank account or credit card details will be secure?
Whilst we enter and control the terms of your periodic payments, the actual billing process is managed by a leading third-party debiting company. Debitsuccess is one of the few billing companies to hold the highest level of Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS) compliance certification. This means they are Level 1 PCI DSS compliant and independently certified.
The only way to achieve Level 1 PCI DSS certification is through a rigorous assessment which checks that the relevant policies, procedures, physical structures, and technologies are in place to ensure your information is protected.
Can I pay upfront?
We no longer accept upfront payments. Automated fortnightly payments allow us to spend less time on payment administration and more time focusing on your children.
Are any discounts available?
Yes. We offer a discount for families with 3 or more children enrolled from the same family. Please enquire at the swim school for more details.
Do you accept Active Kids Vouchers?Yes. We accept NSW Government Active Kids Vouchers for our swim programs. These can be submitted via email to email@example.com.
2. ENROLMENTS, MAKE-UPS and SUSPENSIONS
When do lessons operate?
Lessons are available Monday to Friday afternoon 3:30pm – 6:00pm and Saturday morning 8:30am – 11:00am. Bookings are essential and subject to availability.
How do I enrol?
What if I am uncertain of my child’s current level?
Is there a minimum term for enrolment?
A minimum period of 12 weeks (5 debit payments) applies to all enrolments.
Is there a reenrolment process?
No. Once enrolled, your child(ren) will remain enrolled until you suspend or withdraw them from lessons.
Am I able to suspend my child’s enrolment?
Yes. Notification of suspension must be made by completing a suspension form available from the Swim School office or download here. Terms and conditions apply.
How long can I suspend lessons for without forfeiting my child’s spot in their class?
Every effort will be made to maintain your child’s class day/time. However, ongoing and repeated suspensions may forfeit your spot.
What happens if my lesson falls on a public holiday?
Lessons do not operate on public holidays. If your lesson falls on a public holiday you will not be charged for that day.
What happens if I miss a lesson?
One make-up lesson per month will be offered to families who miss a scheduled lesson. We must receive notification of absences at least 2 hours prior to the class in order to be eligible for a make-up. Notice can be given in person, via phone, email or on the parent portal.
How long do I have to complete my make-up class?
A make-up must be arranged within 4 weeks of the missed lesson and may only be scheduled one week in advance.
How can I keep track of my child’s progress?
We utilise a parent portal which enables you to monitor your child’s progress through the levels. Our on-deck supervisor will also be available to answer any questions regarding their progress within the program.
Are private lessons available?
Yes. Private lessons are available outside of our group class times. Please enquire with the on-deck Supervisor or office staff if you feel your child would benefit from private lessons.
Where can I park?
Parking is available at the Sports Hub (P6) adjacent to the pool and is subject to availability.
Do I have to pay for parking?
Parking is currently FREE. Under normal circumstances a discounted fee of $1 applies for all swim school families. We will communicate changes to parking fees and the processes involved as soon as more information is made available.
4. POOL ACCESS
How do I access the pool?
An RFID band will be issued to all enrolled students on the first day. The bands will enable the student to scan through the turnstile and will register attendance for the class.
What happens if I forget my card or band?
See the swim school office or lifeguard office on arrival, so they can welcome you into the pool area. . Please do not jump the turnstiles. Once inside, please check in with swim school supervisor or admin staff to ensure your attendance is registered.
Can I access the pool outside my scheduled lesson?
Pool access is available to all actively enrolled families for FREE outside their scheduled swimming times. Please see the lifeguard on duty to confirm enrolment and allow pool access. This does not include access to ancillary programs.
